I don't own Photoshop but have Picasa for straightening horizons and occasionally cropping. I played with some of Picasa's other features and got this. I think it's kind of neat but will stick with the more natural look for the most part. It's fun to play though.

This looks quite striking! Actually it has a strong air of desolation that the original probably didn't have. I think these experiments are well worth the time and effort.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Martin. It is kind of neat and it was fun. That's the best part.
Mary, I like this photo. You did a really nice job with working with it. I am abit like you and abit challenged when it comes to all the new editing software available. I tip my hat to you that you try. My mantra is " I am smarter than this machine ... one step at a time !" LOL Have fun working with the Photo Clinic!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks for your encouragement. I think I can have fun as long as I figure out a way to keep an original. I think if I make a copy and play with only one version......I lost my original of yesterday's swan but I can always see it on my Shutterchance archives.
Oh no!! When you finish your project can you go save it as "SAVE AS" and then type in a name for it and where you want to put it? That way you should be able to retain your original copy. Maybe Neil could help you if he has the program. So frustrating when you lose an original you like. I am sorry you did..DD
Mary MacADNski: Live and learn, I guess. Thanks for the sympathy. I'll take it.
