Mary MacADNski: Yes, Karen, for bulbs. I buy fresh tulips from them all winter long right from the local farm. They supply stores and florists far and wide. So sad that they just behead these. They were probably done the day after this.
Not Holland - this is hilly landscape. Seems to me they (dutch immigrants) are doing the same thing in Canada as with us. We also have people planting the tulips and other flower types and then export the cut flowers and/or bulbs to holland. They still maintain their commercial contacts there.
In holland you can buy many of these types of flowers even out of season, then coming from countries like SA and Canada.
Mary MacADNski: We have a huge number of Dutch immigrants here on PEI. This farm sells tulips all winter from their door and supplies florist shops and stores with lovely bundles of colour when we need it most. I buy them weekly in the winter.
