They're unusual, I don't think I've ever seen this marking on cattle before. Any idea what breed they are?
Mary MacADNski: They're from a herd of black angus but there may be a bit og holstein in the mix by the look of things.

Watch your back, the cows are out to get you grin

Suby
Mary MacADNski: Only two of about fifty in this field.
What cute faces they have. And I love their 'earrings'.
Mary MacADNski: They're pretty hip. They probably have tattoos as well.

#5 and #15. Priceless.
Mary MacADNski: Years ago we had dairy cows next door. Dairy cows are usually friendly as they are accustomed to being handled. They loved us because I fed them from the garden, the kids gave them long grass and after August, I gave them bushels and bushels of apples. All the cows had vaccination tags and #369 was the kids favorite cow because she seemed to wait for them to come out and play. She'd run to the fence and moo till they came over and paid attention to her(fed her some grass). Oh, the memories.

What unusual coloration they have.
Mary MacADNski: They still have winter hair and it is falling out. They will be black then.
These look like cows ready for cattle market (numbers on ears). Lovely shot ..they look interested.
Mary MacADNski: The numbers are proof of some kind of vaccination all cattle receive when calves.
Nice title and shot Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, bridge
twos company
Mary MacADNski: out of a big herd.

I think that they are asking "what the hell are you doing in our field" lol

Awesome version of summertime, never heard that version before. mal
Mary MacADNski: Renee Olstead is a wonder. She was 15 when this song and album was released.

Lovely pastoral scene, Mary. Dunno why, but the expressions on cows always makes me think they are having a secret joke about humans.

I did a "2 cows" pic a while back [ http://www.mainlythai.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Two_cows/ ], and they look a bit different from yours.
Mary MacADNski: The cows I know aren't that smart...they have thar herd mentality. LOL

You see, Mary....they have you fooled as well, by pretending to be stupid animals. Your camera occasionally gets through the disguise by allowing you to study them for a while, and you can see the subtle smirk.

They are doing something like this:
5..."Gawd,Fiffy, humans are such stupid animals"
15..."I know, Fiver. Always squinting and hiding behind little black or silver boxes...as if they think we won't be able to see them when they do that."
5..."Yeh, Baby...and such herd mentality. Living in identical humansheds, all pushed up together."
15..."Uh huh. And, all wearing the same human blankets, even when it is hot enough to leave them off."
5..."It's a good thing we have given them something to do by training them to be our slaves. Otherwise, the species would have died out through boredom or fighting by now."
15..."Eeerr....careful Fiver...I think there is one of those big foul-tasting caterpillars in that clump of grass you are going at."
.......
Mary MacADNski: I think I've been missing it all along. I din't know.
Lol about the comment of Ray smile
Nice cows I wonder which race it is ! Beautiful twins !
Mary MacADNski: These are black angus with still some winter coat on them. The brown fuzzy hair will soon be off and they will be shiny black. I think they must have some holstein in their line by the look of their patchy faces.
