Let it fall naturally, Mary. Having said that, one of my favorite pasttimes with my g'son, Nicholas (age 7 on July 12) is peeling bark off the dead trees that have fallen in our woods. He calls them our friends and knows that they do NOT get peeled before they die. But on fence posts like this, I like the rough look of the bark still hanging on.
Mary MacADNski: I'll leave it natural. That seems to be the concensus.
Tear it off, Mary, just like the aesthetically precise pioneers did. Then, whip your horse down to the hardware store and get youself a big bucket of heritage green paint [leaded of course] and splash that about the place. [grin]
Nice picture, Mary. Very leafy [and barky].
Mary MacADNski: You're very funny but alone, Ray. Everyone else is suggesting leaving the bark on to fall off naturally.
Mary MacADNski: I had a student starting work and was trying to find things for him to do. I've kept it the way it is, after the concensus here. You're a great group.
