I need advice:

Would you peel this bark (simply rub it off) or let it fall naturally?

Definately keep it natural, great rustic fench.
Mary MacADNski: I'll leave it natural. That seems to be the concensus.

No, I'd leave it as it is. It will age as aging requires.

Let it fall naturally, Mary. Having said that, one of my favorite pasttimes with my g'son, Nicholas (age 7 on July 12) is peeling bark off the dead trees that have fallen in our woods. He calls them our friends and knows that they do NOT get peeled before they die. But on fence posts like this, I like the rough look of the bark still hanging on.

No sense spending hours on something that will take care of itself in a year or two anyway.

Unless there's some specific use for the bark (and I can think of a few) it would probably just be better to leave it.

I like the angle of view here...and I would leave it (like what everyone else is saying). Keep it natural...that's its charm.

It is perfect the way it is, and works particularly well with the angle you have used. (:o)

Yep, leave it on Mary. The peeling bark as it is, makes for very intersting textures in the photo. Nice bit of photography. Kind regards, Neil.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Neil. I'll leave it natural. That seems to be the concensus.
leave it as it is Mary. Natural is beautiful. Nice shot

Tear it off, Mary, just like the aesthetically precise pioneers did. Then, whip your horse down to the hardware store and get youself a big bucket of heritage green paint [leaded of course] and splash that about the place. [grin]

Nice picture, Mary. Very leafy [and barky].
Mary MacADNski: You're very funny but alone, Ray. Everyone else is suggesting leaving the bark on to fall off naturally.
Beautiful composition - This simple view is now fine art ...
Mary MacADNski: I have a lot of simple.
And pleace don't peel it smile
Mary MacADNski: I had a student starting work and was trying to find things for him to do. I've kept it the way it is, after the concensus here. You're a great group.
I personally would not touch anything. Thus he is magnificent! smile
Mary MacADNski: Gracias por todos los grandes comentarios, Jose-Angel.
I come with you Jose-Angel (and also the others). Just leaved it naturally. I love the way you took this photo, nice angle and composition.
Mary MacADNski: I've left it like that. Another section was peeled and it looks good too.
