photoblog image Dream Catcher

Dream Catcher

I was given licence to create "A Dream Catcher" for the second window.  I envisioned a dream catcher hanging in a window with a view of the maritime landscape from a time before buildings.  There are a few small triangular shaped things that can be viewed as trees or wigwams, the traditional native house in ancient times.

The feathers in the dream catcher are made with irridescent glass, giving it  a nice feature at night.  When it is dark on the other side of the window and the room light is shining, the feathers jump right out and are irridescent.  You can see a bit of the rainbowy colours on them even now.

Again, this was taken in a busy office so there is office equipment visible in the photo.  I have better ones from the day the windows were installed but from a film camera.  I don't have a scanner.

This is beautiful!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Martin.
Stunning! I have a friend who does stained glass work, so I have an idea of how much work goes into a piece like this. Amazing.
Mary MacADNski: I like the work itself. Lots of steps to keep me from getting bored.
another colorful one, nice.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks...the last of the series.

It's gorgeous, Mary! I am so impressed by your work!

I love dream catchers (I love everything Native American, truth be known) and have them all over our Atlanta house. I can just imagine what this one looks like at night!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ginnie. It really is nice at night, though I've nevere seen it installed then; only on the work table.
Very impressive work !!!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, shakara.

Don't you know someone with a scanner? smile

It is again excellent glasswork, and I must come and visit one night to watch the feathers.

These natives that you and Ginnie are referring to - are they the american indians?
Mary MacADNski: No, I don't really have access to a scanner. We would be referring to Native North Americans as she is American and I'm Canadian. Native North Americans do not recognize a border though with new security concerns treaties may be broken and passports might be required for them.
Just simply beautiful
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Aussie.

I would like that in my house to go with all the NorthWest Native art that I have.I'm going to try and talk Ellie into getting 2 more pieces when we get back from our vacation. There is alot of carvers here that carve masks and paddles. So far we just have prints from 1 lady that is going blind and some jewellery. We are bringing home some jewellery for K's grad present. I hope she likes it.
Mary MacADNski: Hire me....hire me!
I'm with Suby ! I'd like to have that in my home, it's really beautiful !!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Zebigleb. Did you look at the previous day's post? I did two windows for the same organization.
Mary, this is just gorgeous! You are very talented. I would love to see that in real life. Maybe someday we will get down east again and I will be able to.
Mary MacADNski: That would be wonderful. I;ll give you directions...LOL
Wow... I LOVELOVELOVE this. I had never seen the final product, only the layout on paper that you brought with you when you came home for our wedding... The other one with the people is really nice too, but this one just blows me away. Amazing Job!!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Christine.
Took a look at all three, Mary - very interesting work! I like the idea of art like this being used in offices - just imagine what all those soulless office blocks could look like if atained glass was employed!
