I learn so much from my fellow Shutterchancers. I had no idea PEI had red rock like this, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: In my archives you can see LOTS of red rock. That's all we have.

Mary, this also looks like Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach (San Diego area). Beautiful colors wink
Mary MacADNski: The white on the cliffs is salt. It means there was a recent storm or not recent rain.

Hmmm! Not yer usual beach scene, is it.
I love the pink sands and cliffs.
Mary MacADNski: Typical for here, Ray, though the north shore of PEI has the pink/white sandy beaches that the tourists flock to.

We all get more and more amazed by PEI with every pic, Mary. What a lovely place on God's earth!
Mary MacADNski: When are you coming?

How affluent can you be - I don't even have a beach, let alone an other beach. tongue Must be jealousy speaking here.

This ochre colour is associated with Fe rich earth. Can that be the case here?
Mary MacADNski: I bought this land in 1974 before I moved to the Island for a rediculously low price. I am not at all affluent - far far from it actually. Yes the red soil is from lots of iron in the soil. It is basically rust.
Love the eroded sculpture that has formed through many a year.
Mary MacADNski: The cliffs change every year. It's really cool.
The red is beautiful, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: When the green fields are in close prooximity to the red soil, it can be stunning

Red Rock! This is a first for me. Beautiful Mary.
Mary MacADNski: THe Island is all red rocks.
Hmm, I'd take a beach like that smile
Mary MacADNski: I only get there once a year or less, sadly. It is really wonderful.
Very nice Mary. Where was this shot?
Mary MacADNski: This was shot at West Cape, here on PEI.
Beautiful red color, almost an human aspect no ?
Mary MacADNski: Quite often there are faces in the cliffs.

Great rocks full of character, interesting colour as well.
Mary MacADNski: It's wonderful here, Les.
Those are quite amazing red rocks. I guess the tide must come in right up to the top of the smooth parts?
Mary MacADNski: Not regular tides but blowing winter storms. The white on the rocks is salt so they certainly receive lots of spray.
