When I arrived home from work the other day the girls were very anxious to show me something. I couldn't believe it was a snake. Clarke had played with a snake last summer but Clarke was like that. the girls are trained pacifists as far as birds are concerned but hteir training didn't extend to snakes. Thank goodness. Kenz and Bella were very proud and I was very happy.

Ooooh, we have snakes like that, but I would be devastated if they ever came to any harm. Mice and voles, however, any cats are very welcome to, as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, I like the way you've composed this scene. It really tells a story!
Mary MacADNski: They were pointing out their capture just as I was coming home....pretty quick composing.
Are your snakes poisonous. Some of ours are deadly and I was horrified when I came home and found the dogs had killed one. They say that if cows are bitten they just get a headache but I want to know which cow told them they had a headache.
Mary MacADNski: LOL. There are no poisonous snakes in PEI, thank goodness. I encountered a poisonous snake on my first morning in Australia when it went across a grass trail in front of me. It was behind my friend's house in the Canberra suburbs where she had walking trails surrounding her. She was 50 something and had NEVER seen a snake in the wild. Just my luck, eh? She had been reassuring me that I would not ever run across one. Surprised her.
It's a wonderful picture, Mary, and I feel like I am the third cat looking at the kill.
I do feel sad for the snake though. Most small snakes don't have any chance against a cat.
Mary MacADNski: There are more than enough snakes around. I could say more than enough but that might bother the snake lovers. You can guess I am not one. So sorry.
Very smart cats, Mary. You trained them well This is a great picture too. I love it.
Mary MacADNski: I worked very hard to train them. Birds can eat from the feeders on the deck and the cats don't bother them at all. Mice and snakes are different and they are allowed to get them.
