Fungi come in so many eye popping varieties. Are these edible?
Mary MacADNski: I don't know if these are edible. I know only one positively - chantarelles and eat those but am not sure of any others.

Is that green stuff lichen, Mary, or some kind of PEI grass?

I am sure Jungian scholars would have a field day with this...I often find the appearance of fungi to be somewhat erotic.

Mary MacADNski: The erotic part may be because of their shape, Ray, and the green is plain ordinary moss.

Mary MacADNski: I wouldn't go by looking edible. I only eat chantarelles as I'm 100% sure about their identity. Ray is always funny!

I love this shot, Mary. It makes me think of autumn here in the New Forest. It is a great time for spotting fungi. Guess what I will be doing over the next few weeks - lol! BTW. I love the fact that you put music with your photographs. I`d love to do something similar - is it very complicated? (:o)
Mary MacADNski: It's not difficult to put music on you blog. It's just that you have to have it uploaded to someplace on the net. I have two music pages where I've uploaded over 700 songs.
It is truth, also I read the other day here that already begins to appear the first mushrooms of the season! Pretty image that enters to us in the autumn wink
