photoblog image Red and Green

Red and Green

I've just spent nearly a week at my dad's on a short vacation where I went hiking each day in the woods.  The area is full of deer, moose and bears but I was very brave.  Stupid maybe, but brave nonetheless.  I love the woods at any time of the year but the autumn has it's charm with the brightly coloured leaves on display all around.

The leaves are still full of life even though we are stepping into autumn, love the contrasting colours here Mary. Very striking indeed. You were brave Mary but I think I would have done the same but then again I also can be stupid at times as I have been told, it's the adventurer in us wink
Mary MacADNski: I feel very compelled to be in the woods at all times of the year and here on PEI we have no large wild animals so even though I know better in the province my Dad lives in, the compulsion to be there overrides my fears.

Beautiful. Love the 2 tone leaves. I enjoy going into the woods looking for the animals. I like to photograph them. I find they hide very well!
Mary MacADNski: We don't really see any animals here except for squirrels and chipmunks and I always say our most dangerous animal is a skunk, which is nocturnal.

Beautiful!
Are those the famous Maple leaves?
I am guessing you have saved the moose, bear and deer shots for later in the week?
Mary MacADNski: I didn't see any wild animals except when I was driving but got lots of tree and leaf shots.
Oh, those leaves are definitely worth photographing. So interesting the way they change colour from the outside in.
Mary MacADNski: Every tree is different. Yesterday some tourists I was dealing with asked me why sometimes a branch is red while the rest of the tree is still green. I had no idea. LOL

Mary MacADNski: The true Cdn maple leaf is tomorrow's post.

hey i am a leaf peeper. i should scout where to fully experience and enjoy watching the leaves change color this year. nice shot.
Mary MacADNski: Anywhere in the Maritime Provinces or New England would be perfect but hurry....it has a best before date.
We really noticed the autumn colours here when we were out yesterday ( No bears in Worcestershire!) Lovely colours and capture of the change from summer to autumn.
Mary MacADNski: Nice to know that we're on the same schedule. We had a very late summer(you too) so it's nice that autumn is late and extended.
Lovely colours. Leaves just on the verge of autumn. All the best, Dave.
Mary MacADNski: Just on the verge....correct!
Hmmm, beginning of autumn, a nice shot !
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Zebigleb. It is a very pretty time.
WOW! Is very nice... this! I like!
Mary MacADNski: Gracias, Jose-Angel.
Mary I like this one, better than the next one imho, a bit more punchy and clearer.smile
Mary MacADNski: It is definitely clearer. It is in the dappled sunlight rather that full sun like the red tree.
