As you show in this excellent, colourful image, Mary, foliage can be every bit as beautiful as flowers.
I have several leaf shots queued to present in the next couple of weeks, so perhaps I am biased.
Mary MacADNski: I love the fall leaves too. This one seems to be a bit overexposed but I love the pure red surrounded by green.

You are way ahead of us here in Atlanta, Mary. That's when I realize how far south we really are! I wonder if I'll miss it altogether here before we leave for Amsterdam in a week. But surely we'll get it there. One place or the other is fine with me!
Mary MacADNski: This is on the mainland which is ahead of us too. They are ahead in the spring too, alas.
lovely color, but I think its a bit too bright.
Mary MacADNski: It was a scorcher of a day with the sun shining intensely.
Now that is is an explosion of colour. Gorgeous.

Nice picture of autumn in the woods.

Can your camera take a circular polarizing filter? What is maybe required with the backlight here.
Mary MacADNski: I had one on my camera that was stolen but don't know if I could get one for this one. I just discarded several photos that I took in the woods this morning that could have been saved by a polarizing filter.

Oh gorgeous colours and shapes. What a pretty time of year.
Mary MacADNski: I passed this tree several times that week and finally got an opportunity to stop and photograph it. I loved how it was so very red.
autumn is comming, no doubt about that, we do not have those nice colours yet, this is realy a nice shot.
Mary MacADNski: We don't have them yet here either. This was from the mainland, where I vacationed last week. I was in the woods today and the leaves are just beginning to change here.

That island of red amid the green is so beautiful. It's such a lovely time of year.
Mary MacADNski: I loved that red and green too, even though it is overexposed from the bright sun.
