A Horses Eye

I got a panicked phonecall at 6:30 am.  A friend who lives nearby had gone off to work and forgotten to water her horses.   She asked me if I would do it for her.  I had no problem helping a friend though I am not familiar with and a bit afraid of horses.  I was nudged and rubbed by this mare all the time I was filling the water container and was quite nervous.  I didn't know if horses bit people, whether this one would, or whether she was trying to tell me something.  I got through it unharned and as a bonus got this shot and a couple more.

Beautiful use of the small spot of light...a very obliging horse, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: She was lovely and friendly and happy to have water.
Most horses I have met have been so gentle and friendly. The nudges and nuzzles are sweet.
Mary MacADNski: The woman called me that evening to thank me and said that her nuzzles are signs of affection and that she'd never bite. Whew!!
What a beautiful photo... look at those lashes .. to die for!!! really stunning lighting and well captured
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Gale. She is a lovely mare.

Maybe she was trying to tell you that you need never be afraid...at least of her! Sweet.
Mary MacADNski: I think that's it. The owner called me that evening and told me that nuzzling is her way of showing affection. Whew! I certainly won't be afraid of her again and have promised to bring her apples. I have a ton of trees.
nice shot
light's a little too harsh for me though

ps i dedicated my blog today to you

thanks for your encouragement
Mary MacADNski: The light was what the light was in the little stall with the morning sun shining in. A was a bit frightened and just backed up a bit to give it a try.
Lovely shot. Horses have such a grace about them and you've captured it in this shot. All the best, Dave.
Mary MacADNski: That's very nice, David. Thank you.
