This is the barn cat that lives with the rescued horses that I feature every once in a while. I spoke to the rescuer today. She told me that this cat is rescued too and could not live as a house cat so it was taken to be with the horses. She's a beautiful, friendly kitty and gets along fine with her equine pals. She's quite small, a lot smaller than my girls, Kenz and Bella.

Mary MacADNski: She's very sweet. She is usually rubbing against my legs so I could never get a photo but she was heading to my hiking partner's legs. Grabbed my opportunity.
Nice picture, Mary.
She looks like a pretty confident cat as she patrols her environment.

Hi Mary, a good friend of ours has just "lost" a grey cat (Smokey, of course) the double of your barn cat. Smokey, in turn, was a double of my sister's grey cat, "Kitty" - propbably the softest, daftest cat I know. We also used to be visited by a stray who we Christened - wait for it - Mr Grey! Here's to grey cats!!
Mary MacADNski: I love steel grey cats! My best grey cat story: Years ago my brother-in-law moved back to PEI from a big city. He had Spike, a grey cat who had never been outside, had lived in a high rise his whole life. He moved here to the rural life and this cat became king of the neighbourhood. No dogs or cats could walk by their house. He chased or attacked them. He killed bird after bird and hoarded the bodies. Inside he was a sweet kitty but outside a neighbourhood terror. He was finally killed by a car while chasing a big dog down the road. He was a large cat not tiny like this sweet little barn cat.
