Wow! Impressive image, Mary.
When I was a kid I loved playing around derelict, collapsing places like this...they are kind of magical.
Mary MacADNski: I spent a lot of time in old abandoned buildings too and got in trouble for it sometimes. Now, as an adult, I can understand why - the rusty nails being the first hazard I can think of.
Cool photo. Were you able to get closer and explore?
Mary MacADNski: Not really, Karen. I made one attempt and got scrambled up in some boards that were under the long grass and got an instant vision of rusty nails so I backed off.

Oh my. It looks like you got there just in the nick of time Mary smile
Mary MacADNski: I'm not sure how much longer it's going to stay upright.

Your shot makes me want to know the history of that old house and the people who once called it home. Thanks, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: That's something I'll never know but I too would love to know the history.
I`ll huff and I`ll puff and I`ll blow your house down! Hope the three little pigs escaped safely. lol! This is a great shot! Seems you were there at just the right time as I can imagine it will not hold up much longer. I love it! (:o)
Mary MacADNski: It certainly is ready to blow down. It is close to the water too which probably makes it a very windy place. I'll check back next year.
A useful way of showing old construction techniqueswink
Mary MacADNski: Or destructive techniques.....
Tornado ? How sad.
Mary MacADNski: No tornado...just old age.

Wow. Still, a lick of paint and it'll be right as rain!

Also the music - I've only heard Nirvana do that song. Guess they covered this one smile Nice one
Mary MacADNski: Lol. Does a carpenter come with that paint? Here is the Wikipedia entry on this very famous song from the 1870's.

Nirvana is one of a long list of performers of this song. I have several versions myself. Great song!

Where did you sleep last night, three little pigs? smile Hah. But this place is going down the slope now.

Somewhere at the back of my memory archives, there is a song 'This old house of mine'.

Nice detail shot.
Mary MacADNski: I would probably recognize the song from hearing it but am not good with remembering titles.

Gosh Mary this side of the house looks like it's been hit with a demolition ball. Great shot. I wonder how much longer it will last?
Mary MacADNski: It's hard to say, Tracy. I'll check a couple of times a year and record it's demise.
What a shame. It doesnt look real - it looks magical. Well captured and excellent title
Mary MacADNski: All it serves as now is a muse, I think, and a photographic opportunity.
WOW! Mary! A great scenary! Well done!
Mary MacADNski: Gracias, Jose- Angel.
Sad to think it was once someone's home. Nice shot Mary, and probably only just in time!
Mary MacADNski: I will check again next year to see if it still stands.
Lovely, if sad pic. Always wondered what the last user would see if they saw t now.
Mary MacADNski: It's been abandoned for a long, long time, I'd say. There may be no former occupants left.

I guess that your builders were not up to the job Mary? I like the shot. mal
Mary MacADNski: I'm hoping it's still there when I go back next year. We've had vicious winds lately and this is right in the strait.

Very thought provoking.
Storm damage, neglect, vandalism or just plain old age.
Whichever, I can't see it being rebuilt
Mary MacADNski: I think all of the above is true and LOL, I don't think it will be rebuilt. Great piece of land on the Strait for someone.
