These cows look so contented with heaps of green grass to eat. Lovely composition Mary.
Mary MacADNski: The farmer takes these cows off the pasture and into barns for the winter. I will miss seeing them on my hikes but they should still be around for a while yet. They are curious and will come to the fence if I go over.
What stunning colours.. beautiful time of year. What magnificent scenery you have around you.Looks very peacefull.
Mary MacADNski: It is lovely here. We're past this stage of autumn now. Most of the leaves have disappeared; even the green ones after this weekend's post hurricane storm. Whew!
I always know I can come here for a bit of excellent music and a nice peaceful nature shot. Thanks for that, Mary. Allison Krauss as the voice of an angel. If you have not heard her sing Steven Foster's "Slumber My Darling," you must. It is so beautifully done, that it often brings tears to my eyes.
Mary MacADNski: I do love Alison's voice and will seek out the song you mention. My favorite song of hers is Get Me Through December that she does wilt Natalie MacMaster playing fiddle. It has disappeared from my music pages (as have many others)ao I will put it up again this December. In the meantime, respond to this and I'll send it to you as an attachment via e-mail.
Mary love the contrast in colours, the view is beautiful.
That cow looks very fat was it in calf?
Mary MacADNski: I don't know the life cycles of the cows in this pasture. It is one I pass on my hikes. I do know there is a bull in the field so there will definitely be some in calf that aren't now.
Beautifully composed, Mary and I love the colours.
Glad you made it through the big storm ok.
Mary MacADNski: Thank you, Michael. living on an east coast island you become accustomed to strong winds and when we know we're getting a severe blow, we take precautions like having water, candles and supplies ready. I was prepared and the wind wasn't as bad as expected. The highest gust was 111 km/hr.
Great greenery. Love the cows.
Easy to see why you pull on the boots and tramp around this island of yours, Mary.
Looks like it might be getting a bit cool, now?
Mary MacADNski: Since the tropical storm on the weekend it's been a bit cooler - closer to seasonal but still above normal. Great for walking as I walk fast and stop often - for photos, of course.
