If we saw something like that out here in the dry SW United States we would be scared silly that it would set off a huge forest fire!
Mary MacADNski: It was a very small fire and was at the edge of the road. The fellow even had a bucket of water. No danger but it would be if we were any dryer. We had less than half the normal rainfall for October.

I was thinking exactly what Helen said before I read her comment! Thank God you apparently don't have to worry about that.
Mary MacADNski: No worries. It was just a little fire and the fellow was being very careful. He even had a bucket of water with him. I has been very dry this year and we had less than half the normal rainfall for October.

I like the framing of the photo and the subject itself. The path leading from one corner of the photo into the middle is a nice choice. It does feel a little washed out though.
Mary MacADNski: I'm not sure where you're seeing that the photo is washed out. There is smoke all around and the sky is grey, not blue. I don't know.
I will never get over that red island soil.
Mary MacADNski: I always feel so strange when I go anywhere else and the soil looks so pale and blah. It's what you get used to after 31 years.

Beautiful image, Mary.
Red soil under white smoke looks fabulous, and the tall, slender trees are a bonus.
Mary MacADNski: I had one taken closer but this one showed the rich red soil to better advantage.

Theres no smoke with out fire. Nice shot Mary.
Mary MacADNski: How true that is, Tracy. Thanks.
Very nice shot Mary. I like the composition
Mary MacADNski: Merci, Richard.
Nice composition Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Bill. I just had to include that freshly uncovered soil in the foreground.
Beautiful ! It was a pleasure to catch up my late smile Thank you Mary !
WOW! This is very dangerous. To fire in a zone as this with such amount of trees is a very great risk! This gives fear!
Mary MacADNski: This was not dangerous at all. It was a small fire with lots of smoke. Spruce wood burns very snoky. It was fight beside the road, there was no wind, and the man with the fire had buckets of water with him. The situation was perfectly controlled.

Esto no era peligroso en todos. Era un fuego pequeño con las porciones de humo. La madera spruce se quema muy snoky. Era lucha al lado del camino, no había viento, y el hombre con el fuego tenía cubos de agua con él. La situación era perfectamente controlada.
