Brilliant.
What a superb picture of the whole familiy Mushroom.
This old, decaying tree-stump is proving to be very useful.
Mary MacADNski: A fungi family out for the day at the fast food joint. That's where these are - next to the parking lot of a Wendy's. Glad they know the decaying tree stump definitely would provide the better nutrition.
The 4 years I spent living in the Appalachian region of Tennessee left me with such an appreciation and love folk music. "I'm Not Afraid to Die" by Gillian Welch is a prime example of why. Have you listened to Natalie Merchant's "The House Carpenter's Daughter?" Same soulful sound. The little mushrooms in your picture look cheerful. Nice one, Mary!
Mary MacADNski: I will check out that Natalie Merchant song. Thanks.
I've seen/heard Gillian Welsh in concert, Mary, so this song is soulful to me as well (as Kathryn!) and is so perfect for this photo. It makes a good sermonette, I think!
Mary MacADNski: Lucky you and it is a great song....especially for the photo of a tree stump and the symbiotic relationship with the fungi.
