Oh, I LOVE Sumac at this time of the year, Mary! As long as it's not poisonous and I don't touch it! smile I HAVE heard the phrase "take a hike" but it's been a long time. I hope no one says it to me any time soon. smile
Mary MacADNski: This is not the poisonous variety. I curse it the rest of the year for taking over the area around my pond but at this time of year it certainly is beautiful. If anyone does tell you to take a hike, you know where to go.

Very pretty, with their bright yellow veins! In my mind I had already labeled them as "Not Maple".
Mary MacADNski: I had actually titled this 'Yellow Veins' then thought I might have to say over and over that it was a sumac.

Wow Mary, this is so great, the sun in the leaves and the veins lighting up.
Mary MacADNski: I curse these sumacs the rest of the year for taking over the area around my pond but some days in the fall they can be pretty gorgeous.

Mary MacADNski: Yes they are. They're past now. This was taken about a month ago.

Mary MacADNski: I didn't crop it, Richard. I don't use post processing except to straighten horizons and I guess I do the odd crop to get telephone wires put of the way or something. Very, very seldom. I guess you'd say I crop "in camera."

This is beautiful Mary. The translucence of the leaves and the yellow veins are just wonderful. (The songs not bad either!)
