I think I would prefer to see the Angels...for some reason these wooden walkways seem to me to do more aesthetic harm than good to the place they are erected to protect.
But, It is a nice pic, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: This is the first of a series on dunes. The board walks are vitally important to keep the dune systems in place. The marram grass is very shallow rooted and fragile. Walking on it once (beside being painful) will kill the grass and....there goes the neighourhood and the dune system. This photo is the first on a series on dunes.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE boardwalks, Mary, and think they're wonderful aesthetically! I know how they protect and not harm the ecology. Now I'm eager to see the dunes. The thought of them brings back many happy memories from my childhood on Lake Michigan!
Mary MacADNski: Boardwalks are very important on our north shore for the protection of the dunes. I think you'll like the series though I wish it had been a blue sky day....but what can you do?
