I like the feeling of 4 distinct places in this photo, Mary, each one drawing me in. I have always loved sandy roads...and "seeding grasses," as Ray says...and WATER, of course...and the forests in the background. So much to see and imagine!
Mary MacADNski: I think I chose the wrong photo because the beach on the left does look like a road. The photo does have a lot to look at.I have several takes of this spot and gave up the point of land on the left to show the other side of the water.
The sun highlighting the grass, grass seeds and the water provides an unusual feel to the picture. Almost as if an artistic filter was applied. I know you don't
Excellent picture and composition.
Mary MacADNski: That artistic filter is the wind. It was extremely windy this day. The last two photos and tomorrow's is the same day and on Monday's (with the birds)you could see the whitecaps in the bay.
Stunning Mary,Love the whisper from your grass it gets me evreytime.
Mary MacADNski: Why the grass is this way is because of the wind. The island is quite windy at this time of year and every time I've been out in the last month, it's been blowing a gale. Just recovering right now from twenty three hours without electricity. Heavy snow and again, that wind. Winter is here.
There is something of the old hand coloured b&w pictures about this Mary. It's a lovely picture. (Whoever thought that Rod Stewart would ever sing Gershwin? )
Mary MacADNski: Rod did a couple of albums of standards. His voice is quite well suited. I have a surprise song for you next week. This week is all uploaded already. I'm so glad you play the music. I don't think many do.
Awesome, Mary! A beautiful gentle feel to this one. Each section of this photograph has a charm of its own. I love the line of trees in the distance, and the tree standing slightly on its own in the middle. The grass is a subject in itself - golden, shimmering, full of movement. Just gorgeous. (:o)
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Rosalyn. Those grasses are definitely shimmering and full of movement in the howling wind.
