A different view of the post from a few days ago. Some thought the part on the left was a road but it was a beach which is more clear here. We had a storm on Saturday, the day after this and then another huge one on Monday and Tuesday. I lost electricity for twenty three hours. I'd say this beach looks very different now.

I was one of those who thought it was a road, Mary, so it's very nice to see the truth now! I love little places that jut out like this into the water.
23 hours is a long time without electricity. I hope you didn't lose everything in your fridge/freezer!
Mary MacADNski: No, I tried to keep the fridge closed as much as possible and didn't open the freezer at all. I have a wood stove for heat, a propane campstove for cooking, and lots of candles so was fine, but very bored.
What a nice place and how nice you've caught it for us. Thank you Mary !
Mary MacADNski: Thank you, Roland. This historic site has to do with a trader from France who made his base here to gather and ship things to France. My ancestry is 100 percent Acadian so these things interest me. Here is a link to "the Acadians" if you are not familiar with the term. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acadians
Nice colourful short Mary and the water looks so inviting.
I bet you got through some candles in 23hours, unless you have alternative power source?
Mary MacADNski: It was extrememly cold and windy so you'd want a wetsuit to get into the water this day.
I don't have alternate power so yes, a lot of candles were consumed. I have a propane campstove for cooking and a wood stove for heat but had no lights or water. I talked on the phone a lot and slept later than usual.
This is a truly beautiful spot, Mary. Gorgeous capture again. The grass still looks fabulous, and contrasts beautifully with the beach and then the shingle and then the water! (:o)
Mary MacADNski: This was my first time here. I will be going back in the summer.
I guess you need to restock your candles after that little fun episode. Amazing shot it really doesn't look like a beach.
Mary MacADNski: It is not a terribly long beach and is at a historic site. So true about the candles. I still have tons but after the next storm, a definite restocking is in order.
23 hours without electricity!!! I thought those things only happened here in the third world, beautiful picture you got here, good luck with the storms
Mary MacADNski: Heck, no. Big storms often knock out our power. I expect it will happen a few more times before the winter is over.
Thanks Mary that is so nice of you. I have this on Vinyl and it is one of the albums I plan to convert to digital via my USB turntable (new toy). Gordon Lightfoot did write this by the way. Oh, and yes I like the picture too
Mary MacADNski: I just found out from Kathryn that it is his song. I wasn't sure.
Hi Mary, can I ask where is your lovely island? Mike
Mary MacADNski: It is on the east coast of canada, tucked in beside Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Here's the Wiki article with it shown on a map. Are you coming too with M'roy, Astrid, Aps, Roland and Tim and his kids? It's going to be a very full house. My daughter is coming home too.
