photoblog image One More Time

One More Time

A different view of the post from a few days ago.  Some thought the part on the left was a road but it was a beach which is more clear here.  We had a storm on Saturday, the day after this and then another huge one on Monday and Tuesday.  I lost electricity for twenty three hours.  I'd say this beach looks very different now.

A song for Bill Phillips (Yellowbear) who listens to the song most days and enjoys them.

Very nice with the water sweeping around. And, of course, the colour.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Michael. It was my first time here and I will go back in summer.
Twenty-three hours?! I'm sure that was no fun. sad

The light is beautiful in this image.
Mary MacADNski: It was ok, if not boring. I have a propane campstove, a woodstove and candles.

Fascinating scene. I wish I was there...
Mary MacADNski: It was really, really cold and windy so bring warm clothes.

I was one of those who thought it was a road, Mary, so it's very nice to see the truth now! smile I love little places that jut out like this into the water.

23 hours is a long time without electricity. I hope you didn't lose everything in your fridge/freezer!
Mary MacADNski: No, I tried to keep the fridge closed as much as possible and didn't open the freezer at all. I have a wood stove for heat, a propane campstove for cooking, and lots of candles so was fine, but very bored.

What a nice place and how nice you've caught it for us. Thank you Mary !
Mary MacADNski: Thank you, Roland. This historic site has to do with a trader from France who made his base here to gather and ship things to France. My ancestry is 100 percent Acadian so these things interest me. Here is a link to "the Acadians" if you are not familiar with the term.

Nice colourful short Mary and the water looks so inviting.
I bet you got through some candles in 23hours, unless you have alternative power source?smile
Mary MacADNski: It was extrememly cold and windy so you'd want a wetsuit to get into the water this day.

I don't have alternate power so yes, a lot of candles were consumed. I have a propane campstove for cooking and a wood stove for heat but had no lights or water. I talked on the phone a lot and slept later than usual.
This is a truly beautiful spot, Mary. Gorgeous capture again. The grass still looks fabulous, and contrasts beautifully with the beach and then the shingle and then the water! (:o)
Mary MacADNski: This was my first time here. I will be going back in the summer.

Hmmmm...still like the grassy wedge best in the whole gorgeous shot, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I took lots of shots of just the grass that day too Ray. It was extremely windy so the grass looks very soft. Here's a link to one from my other blog. I've tried to link just the photo so if it doesn't work let me know and I'll link the post.

I guess you need to restock your candles after that little fun episode. Amazing shot it really doesn't look like a beach.
Mary MacADNski: It is not a terribly long beach and is at a historic site. So true about the candles. I still have tons but after the next storm, a definite restocking is in order.

I see my mistake now, however I would still like to take a stroll here.
Mary MacADNski: I can see it did look like a road so thought I'd put up the explanation and correction.
I love those wild landscapes... freedom...
Mary MacADNski: Thar's just how I feel out in those landscapes, Florence. It's wonderful.
23 hours without electricity!!! I thought those things only happened here in the third world, beautiful picture you got here, good luck with the storms
Mary MacADNski: Heck, no. Big storms often knock out our power. I expect it will happen a few more times before the winter is over.

Good old Gordon Lightfoot and his lyrics...right, Mary?

And what an image to go with it...lonesome winter.
Mary MacADNski: I was actually wondering if he wrote this. Do you know?

Just a touch of contrasting to lift the colours from the haze? No! OK then.

Again the great lines as in the previous picture.
Mary MacADNski: If I had the time or inclination, Louis.
Very nice picture Mary. I like the soft tones
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richard. I think the soft tones are due to the wind that day.

Lovely combination of curves here. Nice smile
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ellie. Nice that you're in front of the fire today.
I like the way this looks like a painting, especially the part to the right in the picture
Mary MacADNski: This was a repeat post showing more from the left. The former post showed more from the right:

Thanks Mary that is so nice of you. I have this on Vinyl and it is one of the albums I plan to convert to digital via my USB turntable (new toy). Gordon Lightfoot did write this by the way. Oh, and yes I like the picture toosmile
Mary MacADNski: I just found out from Kathryn that it is his song. I wasn't sure.

This looks like a great place to take a walk! Beautiful!
Mary MacADNski: It was very nice but freezing. i'm going back in summer.
Hi Mary, can I ask where is your lovely island? Mike
Mary MacADNski: It is on the east coast of canada, tucked in beside Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Here's the Wiki article with it shown on a map. Are you coming too with M'roy, Astrid, Aps, Roland and Tim and his kids? It's going to be a very full house. My daughter is coming home too.
Opps! Pensaba que ya había comentado sobre esto. Me gusta! I like!
Mary MacADNski: LOL You are not having memory problems. This is a second shot of the same place. This one is further to the left.

LOL que usted no está teniendo memoria problems. This es un segundo tiro del mismo lugar. Éste está más a fondo a la izquierda.

Lovely light here, Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Kay. It was so cold, I think the light was frozen.

Mary MacADNski: Quiet at this time of year but wait till summer!
