Ducky Day

This was taken three weeks to the day after this one.  Quite a difference!  Ducks are happy to find open water.  There was another pair as well, just out of camera view.

Cold freezing cold! I am glad I am not there...
Mary MacADNski: That day was lovely and warm.Today however is the coldest day of the winter so far. It is minus twenty-two degrees and the wind chill factor makes it seem much, much colder.
Another of your nice winter scene ! I love the 2 ducks !!
Mary MacADNski: The two pairs were happily in the water till I came outside. They got on the ice ready for an easier take-off in case I was an enemy about to attack. One pair is off to the right of the camera.

Fantastic shot Mary. Love this.
Mary MacADNski: You must try to get to North America sometime in the winter, Aussie. You'd love it!

It's so serene, Mary, even though I'm sure it conjures up other memories to the contrary!
Mary MacADNski: It's been there the twenty-three years I've been here with many more good memories than bad. The day of the accident I had been out skating twice and had moments before said how much I loved it out there on the pond. So no, no bad memories. Now my boots: that's another story.
Very nice shot Mary. The ducks seem to enjoy the sun

I bet that sun threw up some glare to the eyes. Lovely postcard scene
Mary MacADNski: No snow blindness yet. LOL Thanks, Pops

Back to the scene of the crime eh M? How long does your snow season last?
Mary MacADNski: It still snows in April and it's not unheard of in May. You may feel sorry for us starting now.

Mary MacADNski: In the foreground are some tracks from a coyote but that is the way of the country. Not a bad thing though.

Keep your eyes open as I found something in Amsterdam that reminded me of you.smile
Hope you are now well on the mendsmile
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Tracy. Now you have me curious about what you found in A'dam. I'll be watching. I go to my first physio appt. on Wed. and will learn a lot then about my status then back to the surgeon on the 5th.

Excellent composition and shades of light. What a difference from the one pic to the other.

That water must be freezing a duck's butt off.
Mary MacADNski: No, the ducks are busy feeding and bathing. It's only when they stop moving.
Crisp and cold was the day Mary, looks great though and the ducks must be happy to have a bit of water to go to.
Mary MacADNski: They certainly like a sheltered pond like this. There was another pair off camera.

Nice work, well done
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Chris.
I just love the refeshing cleanliness of the the snow where it is boosted by the sunlight. Lovely detailing in the reeds and the two ducks. (:o)
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Rosalyn. I had some other shots but the reeds were in the way. The ducks are there today too.
Delightful Mary. The diving duck song is a new one on me..some good guitar work!
Mary MacADNski: Harry Manx is incredible - one of my favorites. He plays a lot with Kevin Breit and they've collaborated on an album. I saw them playing together this past summer but for too short a time. There were other acts to follow.
Fine shot ! I like it !!
Mary MacADNski: Quack, Quack!
