Amazing white highlight and blue shadows. They flowing design is beautiful, especially with the highlight on that point on the right.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Michael. That was from a very late snow last April.
now that is so true, great image!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, expat. Glad to see you back.

Wow, this is so beautiful and now we see snow is not white at all! love it, nice composition....smile
Mary MacADNski: It reflects the sky so when the sky is blue, the snow is blue.

It's very surprising. At first sight I thought it was just a shadow ... well done !!!
Mary MacADNski: The wind worked it's magic.

If you ever saw "The English Patient," Mary, you know why this is reminding me of that movie!
Mary MacADNski: That's just why I mentioned the sand. It is sculpted in the same manner.

Oh Mary this is striking. I would have been tempted to crop off the black on the right side and the tiny bit of brown on the bottom left (or clone it out). Even so, this is just beautiful.
Mary MacADNski: Cropping would definitely have been a good idea however I don't have cloning tools.

Love the lighting Mary and the angle you have taken this shot from.smile
It's great to see your snow as we had only had a skittering. Thank you for sharing yourssmile
Mary MacADNski: We are getting more this afternoon. I would be glad to share that and more. Bring your shovel.

Before I read the title I was thinking this looks like sand in the Sahara desert. great shot. Mary
Mary MacADNski: Both are due to the magic power of the wind.

Second time you have done a light/shadow of the snow and this one also goes to my likeys
Mary MacADNski: You know how to make someone's day. Thanks, Louis.

Lovely shapes Mary...do you get tired of everything being white for such an extended period?
Mary MacADNski: Yes, is the short answer. My whole artistic life deals in colour and white can be boring. If the sun is out turning the snow blue and leaving nice shadows, that is ok.
Just wonderful Mary. Going straight to my likeys. Bravo
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richard. You've made my day!

Beautiful hightlights and coloring here. Isn't snow great Mary?
Mary MacADNski: Ha ha ha. Snow is great to look at and play in. Snow is not great when you have to shovel it or drive in it.

This is beautiful. love the shapes that I can see in it.
Mary MacADNski: Glad you like it, Gale.
Nice use of shadows. Very nicely captured Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Those sunny days surely helped to show the wind's magic.
Fabulous!!! just fabulous!!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Patrick. Your long lean shot this morning was good by the way.
Nice composition : shapes and shadows are very interesting on this shot.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Calusarus, wind is magical sometime and the sun makes the shadows. Nature at it's best.

It does have a nice balance to it. Now I know it's impossible but just a little detail in the white snow at the top - we can do such magic with P/shop.

Another point. How do I play your music selections? Do I have to download a 'plugin'? Is is safe?
Mary MacADNski: I think you just press the link. If a message tells you you must have a plugin, I would say it's safe as most can play the music.

I dont have or use p/shop. I like it's effects for others but don't have the skill or time to learn. I use Picassa for straightening horizons and the occasional crop.
Love those curves and the variety of colour in the snow. (:o)
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Rosalyn.
Love the shape of this Mary.

By the way did I tell you i managed to get a copy of the Finn Bros Album...and as for Johnny Cash, took my daughter Helen to see walk the line and she is now a Johnny Cash fan...so am I!
Mary MacADNski: My daughter loved that movie! Raved about it, in fact.
nice picture. looks like large ice cream.
Mary MacADNski: Cold ice cream

Look at your thumb, Mary. No, not that one. The shutter thumb. That is your composition for this shot.

Very nicely composed.

I'd bet, if you cropped the grass and turned it to mono it would look like a desert wink
Mary MacADNski: I'll try that.

Wow, Mary this is fantastic
Mary MacADNski: Thought you might like that.
I'm really impressed to see so much snow, I'd like to be there in a warm wood house with hot chocolate and great book smile
Mary MacADNski: Ha, that's what I've done all day - even forgot about posting to my music blog. It's a good book.
