I had a friend die of AIDS fifteen years ago. This is Velvet, one of his kitties who was adopted by his aunt. Velvet is diabetic, has a thyroid condition and other health problems but is pampered and treated like a queen as she, in a way, is the last remainder of my friend. He had two cats and the other one passed a couple of years ago. Dhe loves people and runs to greet me when I visit.

Mary, respectfully, I think you are wrong. There is a remainder of your friend that lives in you.
Mary MacADNski: I certainly did not mean what you think I meant as my friend lives in me too. I see his photo every day and hear his wonderful deep voice in my mind. We shared a lot and were together all the time. Some people thought we were a couple. I'm not sure how to explain the importance of Velvet any other way though.
I had a brother die of AIDS 15 years ago also. His name was Louis. I have to agree with Kathryn here. I love that she is laying in front of the fire place being warm and toasty!
Mary MacADNski: I'm sorry for your loss from that horrid disease. I said that wrong as my friend lives in me too. I see his photo every day and hear his wonderful deep voice in my mind. I'm not sure how to explain the importance of Velvet any other way though.
You know what the attention has called me? The ordered good that is the firewood that is in the chimney! He is peculiar as the cats always look for a heat source!
Mary MacADNski: Cats love heat and always sit in the sun or by a fire.
Los gatos aman calor y se sientan siempre en el sol o por un fuego.
THanks for the notes, Mary. A sad story certainly but I'm glad Velvet is there to provide a constant reminder. She looks very much at ease relaxing in front of the fire.
