Cool shot Mary, love all that snow in the background. Does it snow or do you get snow at Christmas time?
Mary MacADNski: We usually get snow at Christmas though this year it was green. On the 27th, the day of my accident I had been out skating twice because we were going to have out first major storm that night. We ended up having three storms in four days or four storms in five days that week and it's been a much snowier winter than usual. We had a major blizzard yesterday with 100 km winds all day and night.
I like how the snow clings in a layer to the right of the tree. Would I be right to think it is the northern side of the tree? Great composition.
Mary MacADNski: That's my favorite part of the shot. The direction would depend on the prevailing wind of the particular storm. The one we has yesterday was Northwest.
Well spotted (though you could hardly miss it!) Someone is wanting to declare their love loud and clear, but I can't help thinking about the poor tree.
Ingrid
Mary MacADNski: I hope the love lasts as long as the tree scar.
I wonder if GS knows? Shouldn't really do this to trees. Makes a good picture though
Mary MacADNski: I wonder too if GS knows. This was on the trail that goes by the hospital. They let me out when I was waiting for the surgery. The lacey tree from last week was from the same place.
I like the taupe colours here as much as the sentiment in the inscription.
More good work from you in these pages, Mary.
To be honest, though, I was browsing Shutterchance for Canadians the other end of the country to quiz about their neck of the woods, as our small band of 4 rusty wrinklies plumped for Vancouver. My suggestion to visit PEI was outgunned.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Colin.
Maybe next time you'll talk them into eastern Canada. It's wonderful and scenic but summer is the time to come. I just hope it doesn't rain the whole while you're in Vancouver. It can be depresssing.
Posssibly this will remain undiscovered by the intended protagonist for the rest of time ... So it begs the question was it worth it. Intriguing shot. richard
Just reading other commments on this and other images: is "PEI" Prince Edward Island? I'm heading to Canada in mid-September to "do" the Rockies but looking at other options as well.
Oh: I hope the tree lasts a lot longer than "GS"!
Mary MacADNski: PEI is indeed Prince Edward Island in eastern Canada. Google it!
