photoblog image Rows of Potatoes

Rows of Potatoes

Typical PEI summer scene.  We grow tons and tons of potatoes. I know I have too much sky here but I've been working from my files all winter and am running a little thin.

I agree, a bit too much sky, but the richness of the green is lovely.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Jewlya.

I think you are correct...crop 50% off the sky and your good picture become brilliant.
Lurv the deep green of the spud plants.
Mary MacADNski: Mis summer when all the fields look like this is very pretty. After a rain when the soil is dark red is the best.
Yep crop your view of the crop.

I'd crop 75% of the sky. Now who are you going to choose ray or myself? ha! richard
Mary MacADNski: The comment after your suggested I take the uninteresting sky away and photoshop a better one in. Lots of choices.

Looks a wonderful fertile soil. The sky would work well if there was more interest in it. Instead of cropping, you could try replacing the sky with one with darker hues and more defined clouds. Good luck!
Mary MacADNski: Contrary to most, I don't use photoshop. I don't disapprove but would never find the time to use it (till this winter ha, ha, ha)and also like the more natural look.....for my photos.
Very nice capture Mary. This is how you saw it, so why worrying about the 1/3rd - 2/3rd rule!
My thoughts will be with you tommorrow.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richard. I like you saying that it's ok because that's how I saw it. That is the main reason I don't use photoshop. I welcome your thoughts tomorrow. Thanks.

Half blue and half green on this shot - i think it compliments both sides.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, EGU. Summer colours.
You may have too much sky...but you can never have too many potatoes!

With the sky cropped it makes a really nice picture Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Ha, ha, ha. That's what the potato farmers say. Thanks, Bill.
Nice landscape, I love the deep green in it !
Mary MacADNski: Thank you, my friend.
