We had only a little snow left at the time of this photo yesterday. It's now a day land a half later and we've had about two centimeters blanket every inch. It will seep into the ground tomorrow - poor man's fertilizer they call it.

This is the winter that will never end, Mary! I sure do love those cattails, though.
Mary MacADNski: My sister returned to our neighbouring province yesterday and says she can't see the field across the road as the snowbanks are so high. The Island got lucky this winter.

I wish that I was back on the Island. I can't see the field across the road because the snowbanks are too high. What a bummer to come from no snow to this.
Love you and miss you
Cath
Mary MacADNski: I miss you too and just as I thought, Bella is already following me around meowing. The snow will eventually melt and Spring will melt.
I've just discovered something new. Cattails are our bullrushes. Thanks Ginnie.
Lovely landscape Mary, love the "cattails" and the snow.
Mary MacADNski: I think they're one in the same. I grew up calling them cattails. This is out my bedroom window so soon spring peepers and frogs will fill the night with sounds that always put me in a happy sleep.
This is great, Mary. Bullrushes are one of my favourite plants, and they look wonderful in the extreme foreground of this picture.
Mary MacADNski: My sister and I were exploring the pond on Saturday and I'll have a few photos of that this week. I noticed all the new growth from the bullrushes. The green shoots are a couple of inches out of the water already.
This is a beautiful view Mary, love the serenity in this one, the colors are just great, this is a beautful place to be.
Mary MacADNski: I love my property. The pond is full of frogs, fish, ducks and herons. There's a resident kingfisher, muskrats and just this weekend we discovered a weasel.
