Dry Wood

This piece of wood has been at the same place on my beach for years and years.  It's like an old friend.

It looks like the head of and animal. Maybe a squid.
Mary MacADNski: I love your imagination.

And I thought you had a towel with you to dry yesterdays piece smile

Excellent picture.
Mary MacADNski: When I was at the beach two days ago I didn't even see this as the tide was too high. I hope it is still there.
And I bet you touch it every time you pass. I love the contrast between the red stone and the bleached timber
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Bill. I do. There is another piece that is about 18 inches wide, 12 inches thick and 8 feet long that I marvel at too. There was a wharf here that was torn down and these must be remnants.
Another great capture of this wonderful piece of wood. I really like it Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Glad you came back on day two.

Mary - this is just fantastic. It is amazing the difference between the "wet" and the "dry" versions! I can't even say I like one more than the other - they are both amazing in their own right! Great photography.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, martie. I like comparisons. Same tree, different times of the year and things like that.

Great colors, this is a special piece of wood, I do hope it did not get lost in the hight tide.
Mary MacADNski: Next time i will go at low tide and see if it survived the winter.

preferred the wet version Mary but with each i love how you have framed it with the lovely colored pebbles, well donesmile
Mary MacADNski: The wet version is more appealing I think - sharpens the grains and all. Thanks, Tim.

Lovely contrast and tones, Mary. It does resemble a sea creature of sorts. I see the eye and mouth smile
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Deb. I'm glad it's just a piece of wood. LOL
He looks friendly to me too.

I think it would be interesting to take macros including only your friend.

Beautiful!
Mary MacADNski: I hope he's still there.
