Waves

Saturday was cool and windy and we had a bit of surf.  Lots of seaweed washed in this year.  It is different every year as to how much pebble, sand or seaweed will welcome you.  I've not been there at low tide yet this year.

Wonderful colours. We can feel the wind Mary!
Mary MacADNski: I'm sure you can feel that wind. It is truly visible.
it's strange the border the seaweed makes on the coastline, rather like a trail leading the eye in as well. It sounds such a special place. Thanks for sharing.
Mary MacADNski: Next year there may be no seaweed. It's all dependent on how the wind blows over the winter.

very high "wow" factor for me, Mary.
Really like the miniscule shore-break, and the glistening rocks in the foreground.
Mary MacADNski: I'm glad you like it, Ray. It's a pleasure to be there no matter what the weather.
The red here realle gives it a surreal feel. It's such an unusual sight. Wonderful Mary
Mary MacADNski: LOL When I see brown soil, I think it's unusual.

The funny thing is Mary your seaweed looks more like the stuff they clean out of the cowsheds over here.smile
Lovely coastal shot.
Mary MacADNski: Maybe they use dried seaweed. It is used as mulch in gardens here but stables use straw.

Great overview again. I can't help wondering how much land is lost to the sea from the opposite banks - and can it happen that one day that part of the island is gone?
Mary MacADNski: There is a fair amount of erosion every year. The strongest prevailing winds in the winter are from the north and the north shore is a different kind of landscape with dunes and sand. You just get bigger beaches and dunes every year.

Great colours, loce the waves, the red tones and the blue of the water match very well.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Astrid. This series is over on Sunday. It's been a long walk on the beach. Glad you came along.
I do find this red beach fascinating Mary. It has a beauty all of its' own
Mary MacADNski: Sunday is the end of this beach series. Glad you're not tired of it.
Had a good look through to catch up. The colours around your beach are all so red...it's really so different to what I'm used to.
Mary MacADNski: The beach photos are over tomorrow. It's been a 14 day walk.
