This looks rather like the home of the common "wooden fence post" [WFP] ... an "animal" that likes to bury one end in the ground, to stand in rows between fields, to connect with its neighbours with iron wires that may be also used in some way for communicating.
However, Mary, this could be the home of an animal that likes to mimic the WFP.
In either case, it is a fine picture of the home.
Mary MacADNski: I hope to see something there eventually and would be happy if it is a WFP.
I hope this isn't a sink hole, Mary. I stepped into one last week in Atlanta when I mowed the yard and just about broke my left foot and leg off. So now I really pay attention!
Mary MacADNski: My mother in law was once very hurt like that. Her knee was twisted and she was in a contraption for about 6 months. Thank goodness you're ok.
If it was here I'd wonder if it was a rabbit or a fox hole.
Mary MacADNski: I've never seen a rabbit here but there are certainly some in the area. No wonder the foxes hang around with mice, voles, cats and maybe rabbits.
