It is a beautifully aged wooden wheel hub, complete with gorgeously rusted iron reinforcing hoops ... I am envious!!!
Mary MacADNski: It's part of my garden and I have many of those little reinforcing hoops - lots of old iron things in my garden.

I am with ray the center of a wooden wheel
Mary MacADNski: You're correct. Everyone is very smart here on SC.

This is a weather beaten part of a wheel that belongs on a wagon...the colours are great, love the rusty hoops.
Mary MacADNski: You're a very clever bunch, Astrid. Everyone knew. Hope you're enjoying your beach time.

How is it that we all know exactly what this is, Mary! It must be part of our communal psyche. grin

Yep - the hub of a wooden, spoked wheel. An interesting view and I love the weathered, worn, old wood.

I do feel it has a touch of over-exposure on the wood. Darkening the highlights (in Elements etc) would give a better tonal range.
Mary MacADNski: You've all guessed correctly - very smart. I don't have PhotoShop, Ron, only Picasa for straightening horizons.
Yes it's a wooden wheel hub Mary. I like the contrast between the almost white wooden texture and the rusty iron!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richard. You're all very smart.

I think it's grass mixed with other herbs, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: You're right. Lying on the lawn and taking note of the sights and sounds.
Lovely bit of rusty iron and weathered wood on this wheel Mary. Incidentally Windows photo gallery will allow you to adjust contrast, colour etc.
Mary MacADNski: I am not familiar with Windows photo gallery. I'm pretty sure I don't have it. I have Picassa though and it allows you to change things artistically. I just like it the way it is at the moment for my shots.

Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Consuela. It is an ancient wheel. Check back for the next version.
Super...
Mary MacADNski: Life is a wheel.
