It could be that flowers are as clouds to ants.

This is a pretty flower, Mary, but I think the gorgeous foliage is the highlight of this excellent image.
Mary MacADNski: That's a great thought - clouds to ants. THis flower was in shade while everything else was in sunshine.
Beautiful composition Mary. This flower seems floating in mid-air!

Flowers are wonderful. My dad loved flowers and never knew what most of them were and I'm the same. I think that is partly why I enjoy taking and seeing flower pictures.

I'm not sure I have ever thought of that comparison, Mary, but since I am such a lover of clouds, I'll have to start thinking of them as flowers of the sky! smile Thanks!

Indeed they are, Mary! I love the detail in the petals.
Mary MacADNski: That's what I liked about this. I took several photos but all but this had insects in them and I did not want the focus to be on the insect but the detail in the petals.
