photoblog image Line of Sheep

Line of Sheep

I stopped on the road to take a photo of sheep in a field.  I guess they thought I might have food because they came running.  All at once I had fifty sheep against the fence making more noise than you would believe.

Lovely capture Mary, the second one appears to be really putting some effort into running
Mary MacADNski: They were all trying to catch that lead sheep who was really excited about company. There were more than fifty who came to the gate.
There is something comical about sheep. They must suffer in the heat!
Mary MacADNski: They don't seem to. These have recently been shaved. My neighbours always had sheep and they seemed fine in the sheep.

You KNOW I'm eating this up, Mary! smile And I'm especially noticing how different these sheep look from the ones I saw in Holland a couple weeks ago. Hmmm. Must be a different breed?! I love the feeling of movement in this image...like they really ARE running to you.
Mary MacADNski: I'm glad it was a strong gate. They were some really excited sheep. These are a run of the mill breed here. They have recently been clipped.

Mary had lots of not-so-little lambs.
Cacophony of The Lambs!
Mary MacADNski: They were really, really loud.

where will they all go?
Mary MacADNski: They all ran up to the fence. After I left, I assume they went back to eating grass.
Beautiful capture Mary. They seem having some difficulties following the leader!
Mary MacADNski: They were just trying to catch up. The leader was bleating and running from the moment I stopped. It was crazy.

Great photo Mary I guess there action go with the saying follow like sheep
Mary MacADNski: That's what I think happened. One was interested, bleated loudly and ran. The others followed. Fifty bleating sheep is very loud.

What a great photograph, Mary. Yes that second one is very hopeful of some food scraps!

Ears like handlebars, love them smile
Mary MacADNski: They didn't seem very interested in the hay I had for them. They were more interested in me.

They are such appealing characters, Mary. I like the spring here to see the little lambs. I didn't think PEI was a big sheep area, though?
Mary MacADNski: We don't have a great amount of sheep but quite a lot. My neighbour always had sheep but retired and is in a nursing home now. I helped him with them every year so miss them now.
I can imagine these guys following you round one of your island walks, lol! (:o)
Mary MacADNski: These sheep would have followed me anywhere.
I just love sheep and this is a brilliant action shot of them. Well done
Mary MacADNski: It was a fun experience, Pat. Why are you in pain?
Awww. so cute with that one way out in front! smile Well captured!
Mary MacADNski: This was only a small number of the group who came running. It was hilarious and a little scary.
