HA! I like that image of flowers being like shopping malls, Mary. grin
Mary MacADNski: Ray says they're sex workers. I say they're pollen consumers.
Beautiful shot, Mary, and the shopping mall line made me chuckle.
Mary MacADNski: Ray has the sex worker analogy, I have the shopping mall. I don't frequent either.

Super close up Mary
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Vintage. The bee stopped long enough for the shot. He was very busy!

LOL.. good to see them enjoying nature's bounty. Well seen!
Mary MacADNski: I spent a lot of time outdoors yesterday and the bees were buzzing everywhere. It's a wonderful thing.
I agree the shopping mall phrase is great. . .Also enjoyed the shot.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks for dropping by!

Love the bee, hate the earwig! Out of all the insects in the garden I absolutely hate earwigs - they seem to serve no useful purpose whatsoever, and are rather scary too. colours and composition are very good.
Ingrid
Mary MacADNski: Earwigs are all too common here. They moved in in 1981 and have flourished. I detest them! Thanks, Ingrid.
Good grief that's an earwig. I detest earwigs! Good picture apart for thatsmile
Mary MacADNski: I detest them too and we have tons of them around here. They came in 1981.

Such a wonderful photograph, Mary. Also a terrific observation in your words

First class smile
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Floog. I'll never get to spout words like you do, however.

Mary MacADNski: Just what I expected to hear from you. I'll compromise...sex workers at a shopping mall.

I had never seen these flowers before and took some photos of them in Amsterdam, because I was so taken with the colour.
Nicely captured Mary and with an insect on each as a bonus.
Mary MacADNski: Here's a shot of echinacea from my first week on SC. The flowers grow and mature as time goes on and this is a young one:

This one has some mature ones and one just emerging:

Here are two more, the first with a butterfly:

They come in other colours too.

You captured such great detail with this macro picture. Weird bug on the right.
Mary MacADNski: It's an earwig. Google them. They are harmless to people but pests. They eat the petals of the flowers in my pots on the deck.
Great one ! I like very much the composition !!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Zabigleb. I'm happy for the bees.
I like these flowers they have such a strong shape and colour, which you have shown off in front of the greens.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Nigel. I have lots of them in my garden.
