I have NEVER seen one like that, Mary. It looks like someone got sick on it!
Mary MacADNski: LOL It does look like that, Ginnie.

I wonder what it tastes like? Pine mushroom season is upon us here. They are paying upwards of $25 a pound right now. Lots of people in the woods looking.

Mary MacADNski: I had two friends in BC who did that for a living. I went with them one trip when it was morel season.
Aren't these amazing! So transient in their nature. But be careful what you eat; there's been two deaths fairly close to me at home from people eating muchrooms that were poisonous.
Mary MacADNski: I wouldn't think of eating what I didn't know. Here I only pick and eat chanterelles.
A thing of beauty. Over here brightly coloured things is ignored until you see some animal eating it. But drab fungi are also poisonous - oh well. So I rather buy from reliable sources - make a very nice sauce and eat them with a steak and a glass of wine.
Mary MacADNski: I stick to what I know - Chanterelles and morels.
