Cats and More Cats

"Blessed are those who love cats for they shall never be lonely."

I'm back from my trip to provide respite care for an aunt in Florida.  She and her husband feed a dozen or so feral cats. The nibbling calico is Patches and she is the mother of the other three.  She has three new kittens but hasn't brought them to the house yet.  The two orange fellows, Butterscotch and Caramel are from the previous litter and the tabby, Boots, is from the litter before that. There are other complete families but they don't come to eat at the same time.  My aunt and uncle also provide beds and outdoor accommodations.  The feral cats are lucky to have them.

They seem very tame for feral cats. We have them round here and you can't get near them. I can't help thinking your aunt would be doing them a favour if she could get them neutered.

Mary MacADNski: Looks are deceiving. They are used to people at the window and are waiting for milk. When we open the window and reach down to give that milk, they all back up several meters. My aunt really wishes they could be sterilized too and that they could have immunizations and flea control. I have another aunt and uncle who heed a neighbourhood's cats but trap them and have them neutered and immunized. they have a great vet and she throws in a free service now and then. They've never had children and have the extra money to do this. It's not within most people's reach. These aunts are from different sides of my family and I admire them both for their efforts.
Nice to have you back Mary.
I like that they are queueing and waiting for their turn!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richard. It's good to be back. The kitties are patiently waiting for their milk.
Bella famigliola.
Mary MacADNski: They get along very well.
Forming an orderly queue shows they are getting well fed or else there would be fur flying. Nice shot Mary.
Mary MacADNski: They are very well fed. This is just one of the feeding stations. What they need most is spaying, neutering, flea control and immunizations.
I sense frustration or rising anger with the two at the back.

Mary MacADNski: They are waiting for milk. Also, they are feral and have never been touched by humans so are ready to take off in a nanosecond.

They all look very healthy for feral cats, Mary, but they are obviously well looked after by your aunt. Mum, particularly. looks good, too; she seeems to have shared her favours around very different toms in her time!
Mary MacADNski: Her three new kitties are all black and white. I think she enjoys the night life.
Good to have you back Mary. I bet you were pleased to see your cats!
Mary MacADNski: I'm glad to be back, Bill. They've hardly left my side since I've been home.
They look so polite.
Mary MacADNski: They are polite. They are so well fed that they aren't lunging for food but take turns.

Nice image. The cats are indeed fortunate.
Mary MacADNski: Oh, yes, they are. I wish we could touch them though.
chacun son tour
Mary MacADNski: Ils étaient des chats de ferel, alimentés par ma tante.
