The simplicity of light and shadow makes this shot for me, Mary. Very nice.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Jennie. Light and shadows - a photographer's tools.

Relatively low-angle lighting has allowed shadows to accentuate the undulations of the solid precipitate...well organised, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ray.

I love the texture in this with the low angle of the sun. The fence helps, too!
Mary MacADNski: This has been in my unassigned pile for almost a year. It was a shot from the end of winter. I visited a friend who lives on the sea but had received a ton of snow.
nice shot. very calming. i love the smooth feel of light and soft tones...nice.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Sarina. It was a beautiful day at the end of winter last year.
Super Mary
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Stefania....a cat tomorrow.

Great shot, is that a lake or ocean in the background?
Mary MacADNski: That is the ocean, Brian, a strait actually, on it's way to the ocean.

I think this one is the best Marysmile
I can see the sea.
Have a good weekend.
Mary MacADNski: It's a shot from last year that has been in my unassigned pile. Glad you like it.

Great shot Mary - I like the way you have framed this with the fence ending in nothing.
Ingrid
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ingrid. This has been in my unassigned pile for almost a year. Time to get it out there.

Great simple image
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Vintage.
What a beautiful picture Mary, made up of just a few simple elements.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Brian. The snowy landscape is so simple many times. This last week or so of snow shots has reinforced that for me.

Excellent - with a straight horizon it would have been a likey. The alternative is to crop to below the horizon, but then you have to take a little off the bottom as well. I know, I know you don't do all that smile Such an excellent study in blue.
Mary MacADNski: I'm far from a perfectionist, Louis, though I should take care of a straight horizon at least. Thanks for the reminder.
This is so good Mary. richard
Mary MacADNski: The beauty is there to capture isn't it? Thanks, Richard.
Simply wonderful Mary. I like the blue hues!
Mary MacADNski: I love the blue too, Thanks.
Snow on the beach? Something rarely seen here
Mary MacADNski: Yes and the water usually freezes over. This was 29 Feb. last year. We had a fairly mild winter and the strait did not freeze entirely.

Lovely image Mary, nice light and composition.
We could use a bit of that here to cool things down a bit. Above average summer temps at present.
Mary MacADNski: I noticed that is was 38 in Canberra the other day. Whew! I have a whole lot of images to keep you cool.
Excellent composition Mary...these "simple" ones can be the hardest to pull off. I teach a lot these days, so I can't pass up the opportunity to share an idea: try cropping the top down to just water (eliminate the horizon line). See how that 10% reduction simplifies and strengthens this image by 100%?
WE HAVE to make a photo pilgrimage to PEI some day soon!
Cheers.
Mary MacADNski: I agree with you completely on your advice. Thanks, Alan.
