All that foresight definitely pays off come winter-time. Mary. This brings back nostalgic memories of the family cottage in Michigan over the Christmas holiday!
Mary MacADNski: This is my sister's back yard and her house was nice and warm due to piles like this.
Been heating with wood over 30 years...this looks like about a days' worth of warmth, these days...17 below this morning...just too darn cold! But the sun will fill the garden room in about 10 minutes, and that will warm things up. Nice, tight composition, btw.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Alan. My huge house was heated only by wood for a hundred and thirty years. I put oil-based hot water heating in fifteen years ago and it changed my life for the better. I still have a wood stove for emergencies.
Lovely crisp capture, Mary! That wood looks amazingly dry under all the snow. Some lovely patterns on the ends of the logs, too. (:o)
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Rosalyn. I was surprised it was good as the pile was far away and through a window. I'm going to show the whole of my sister's back yard where this pile is only a small part.
