photoblog image Squared Off

Squared Off

This is a very different type of roof than is usual on farm buildings here.  Note this building has beside it another short building with just a roof like this shot taken in late autumn '07.

Man, it IS different, Mary! Do you know if there's a utilitarian reason for it? Apart from that question, this is such a peaceful scene.
Mary MacADNski: I don't know the reason but it is the only rood I've seen like this.

Would have thought with all that snow that square roof would be a no no
Mary MacADNski: This is the first time I've seen a roof like this.
Very interesting, MAry. Is this a typical barn on the eastern seaboard?
Mary MacADNski: No, it has a different roof. Usually out buildings would have a peaked roof or a shed roof. I've never seen a roof like this before.
molto bella, ciao Poldy
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Poldy
Is the owner coming from another country or province Mary? Fine shot!
Mary MacADNski: I don't know, Richard. Just came apon this when driving by.

Cheers
Rob
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Rob.

Really like the washed, subtle colours of this image, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It was a day with a light hoar frost in the trees.
A real wintery look..and very cold. The roof does seem strange..I've never seen one. Nicely pictured Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It was a cold day. Perhaps the builder ran out of long boards.

That building on the right looks almost buried!
Mary MacADNski: It's like the one in the linked photo from the fall two years ago.

Your 'Shack stuck in the snow' pictures are all of the very good kind of pictures. Lovely all round.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Louis. I've always had a thing for these old buildings. I believe my first photo on SC is of an old building.
Looks a bit like a Dutch Barn that went wrong!
Mary MacADNski: Could be.
Beautiful barn in his landscape.

Very nice!
Mary MacADNski: Some days have been very pretty.
