Oh! Mary, I would like to see more contrast between the branches and the bird. The general tone of the scene seems to lack shine!

Your model seems to be taking the opportunity to collect a few ZZzzzz's, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: They never stop for a minute. It is hard to get a photo without a blur.

At first I thought it was a washed-out cardinal, Mary. I'm not sure I've ever seen a waxwing???
Mary MacADNski: I would think you have Cedar Waxwings or their cousins the Bohemian Waxwing though I truly don't know.

I loike the textures in the bark especially. The bird is a bonus.
Mary MacADNski: They blend in quite closely.
He blends in rather well with the tree. We get waxwings in the UK from Scandanavia as visitors and occasionally from The US. I have never seen one here though
Mary MacADNski: They blend very very well. Even in green leaves and apple blossoms they seem to blend.

I keep on looking for these birds here in the UK Mary - but in vain!
Mary MacADNski: Fruit trees in blossom would be the best place for you to look. They eat the flower petals of the blossoms.
