March Snow Drift

We had a blizzard this week covering the garden with snow again. The wind sculpts some pretty spectacular shapes in the drifts.

I know it can snow this late, even in April, Mary, but this is ridiculous. Beautiful but ridiculous. I hope it doesn't mean you'll get flooding like is happening now in different parts of the States. Here in Georgia our drought-ed lakes are starting to fill back up, finally.
Mary MacADNski: So far our melting has been sinking in so I didn't think we will get flooding. It is warming up and this shouldn't take too long to melt.
There has been a bit of snow in Scotland this week I think...but that looks like serious stuff!
Mary MacADNski: It will melt quickly this time of year. It will be 8 tomorrow.

Looks like mother nature has been making a meringue in your backyard
Mary MacADNski: I wish she had left some lemon pie to go with it.
The patterns are beautiful! Is this usual at this time of the year Mary?
Mary MacADNski: We traditionally get a St Patrick's Day storm and a couple of small snows after that. The St. Pat's was a week late this year. We may get a few more light snows or you never know, another big one. It's eight degrees today, sunny and melting. I'm leaving to go walking.

Certainly has the look of a pie-top, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It does, care for some?

Great stuff Mary - but it looks so C O L D!
Mary MacADNski: It's eight today, not cold at all. This should melt today.

Goodness, that's a lot of snow.

I'm always amazed by the shapes it makes
Mary MacADNski: The sculptural quality of the snow is truly amazing. It's 8 today so the snow will disappear quickly.
Oh, Mary... please send me a jpeg of this and let me crop & process it for you....oh, what I see in here!
Mary MacADNski: I understand that you see a crop here. I specifically posted it like this. The little tree and snow covered rocks are the garden that everyone here is familiar with. I wanted to show how covered in snow it was and the depth by showing the grass. The photo is exactly as I wanted it. I will send you the jpg. though
I love snow it's so nice ! And you're right about the draw of the wind !
Mary MacADNski: I will be glad to see the end of the snow.
Wow, interesting. Big ears like a dog, human nose and eyes, mouth and head shaped like a goat...dogmangoat?
Mary MacADNski: Like clouds, we can see shapes in the snow drifts. Clouds are nicer at this time of year.
