What I like about this photo is that the heat waves emanating from the road are visible against these walking girls.  Each shot I took showed them as quivery.

Long roads, short roads, we walk them all on An Island Walk.

Oh! Is that what it is?

I always thought that was just something that 16-20 year old gals did.
Mary MacADNski: These are Mennonite girls after church on Easter Sunday. I'd say they are a bit different than the girls we all know. I know that at age five they all can make a quilt. The five year olds in school with my grandson were quite amazed that his mother couldn't quilt.

i certainly remember a lot of "quivery" behavior in teen girls when I was a teen boy. i could never figure them out!

the real question for me is, where was this taken that it's already warm enough for heat waves?
Mary MacADNski: This was taken in Ontario on Easter Sunday. The sun was shining. That's all it takes for heat waves to rise.

These Mennonite girls are probably a bit different from the quivery girls you remember. LOL

Just where are they going, it looks like there in the middle of nowhere
Mary MacADNski: These are Mennonite girls after church. They are very tame compared to other girls their same age.
Heat? NE Canada? It seems like just a few days ago you were showing us winter. I like the effect that the heat has created.
Mary MacADNski: This is in Central Canada when I was visiting my son. It is nice here though. The lawn will have to be mowed in a few days.

Very nice Mary: it's obviously summer already over there!
Mary MacADNski: This was in Ontario and it was a beautiful day. It is here now too. The lawn will have to be mowed in a few days.
Gives it a painting feel Mary
Mary MacADNski: By someone with a shaky hand perhaps. Have you recovered from yesterday?
Never seen heat waves over herewink
Mary MacADNski: Really? They are common over roads on hot days, especially well seen over pavement.
That road looks steep? hope they don't have far to go.
Mary MacADNski: They were going to the farmhouse on the right out of our view. I had much further to go.
Now then..all together girls..shout.."Good one Mary"
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ronald.
I like the effect given by these heat waves Mary! Fine shot.
Mary MacADNski: It's really interesting that it is on all the shots.
I like very much the idea and the result Mary !
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Zebigleb. It is an unusual sight.
This could be used in a documentary essay on the good Mennonite quilt making folk.
Timeless.
Mary MacADNski: They do make wonderful quilts - and furniture.
