They can relax now: the breeding season is over
Mary MacADNski: The drakes hang out together when the ducks are on their nests and when the ducklings are very young. This year I have drakes hanging in my pond. I may have a nest also.

They are all boys as well? Unless there is a colour difference in Canada. Our female ducks are a lot duller.

I've been watching the antics of a group of 14 ducklings on the River test earlier today. The speed those little feed go when danger threatens...
Mary MacADNski: I raised ducks for years. I love them and am so glad to get to watch the wild ones in my pond year after year. The above is not at my place but a park in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Yup, they are all boys in the picture. They must be the school leaving class of 2009 gathering courage to face the girls.
