Oh it is the rae peekaboo sparrow. With blossoms in the dof it is a nice spring picture.

Mary MacADNski: We have many, many different sparrows in N. America. I only know a few right off. We have the English sparrow too which is larger and considered a nuisance bird as they steal nests.

I love the natural framing, Mary. We've enjoying three weeks of a TV programme called "springwatch" which is all to with breeding birds (close-ups of the chicks on the nests, etc), some pf it live. (Makes a change from the other 49 weeks of game shows!)
