Looks like the farmers use chemicals to "weed" their spud crop.
Mary MacADNski: They absolutely do, Ray. My property is special as I've never been next to a potato field. We took precautions when driving when the kids were little. They knew to instantly roll up the windows. A livelihood so some but a scourge to most.
Lovely shapes of the furrows Mary, you do live in a lovely area although I gain the impression from earlier posts that you get quite severe Winters here.
Mary MacADNski: They are severe compared to yours but usually better than the winter on the mainland in our area. It's certainly tolerable. Makes Canadians tough.
Nice framing Mary, I like how the curves lead you into the picture, in the past all this work would have been done by hand, looking at the earthling up of the potatoes this has been done by machine, but that is progress.
Mary MacADNski: This is definitely done by machine. When it was done by hand, kids in potato country got time off school to help harvest. I wanted to live in potato country. (Didn't grow up here)
Many potatoes here Mary....and so different than 'our' fields..
Love the view.
Mary MacADNski: We've had only grey skies for the last couple of weeks. Today we have sun so far. Perhaps now, the vegetables will grow! Someday, I hope to see your fields.
