Cats have remarkable tongues that serve them in many ways as well as our hands do for us.
I remember, as a child, trying to teach a cat to suck milk out of a plate with a straw...it was quite tolerant but, in the end, stayed with the tongue.
Mary MacADNski: That's a first. I trained my cats to accept birds as part of the family but I think if I'd brought out a straw at their drinking bowl, they would have run away from home.
Oh yes, it's Saturday. I'm on holiday and already not caring what day it is! I like the tongue out pose here. Lizzy looks a bit like my mum's cat; he has long fur, too and spends 90% of his making time cleaning himself.
