photoblog image tree, beach

tree, beach

This tree, on a beach I sometimes visit, exudes a distinct presence.  It is larger than it's neighbours and really stands out.  I'm sure many people besides myself has photographed this mighty spruce.

A living wind-sock.

Belly lice, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I checked other photos oh this tree and think that it is an anomaly in that it is the only one shaped like that. It is a fairly sheltered beach so I don't think the tree is windswept, just odd in it's formation.

I refer you to this photo link that shows the tree in it's surroundings. The other trees are straight and normal.

Isn't it amazing the way Nature takes care of things. The tree knows not to fight with the wind, and just goes with it.

Interesting the way trees grow with the prevailing wind.

I think that this gives a very strong vuisiual clue as to the prevailing wind direction, Mary.

Another angle on the lone tree type of shot Mary that comes over very well. My word, the wind must blow pretty strong there.

Yes, we got these in Cornwall, because of the south westerly winds. Nice capture.

I'm sure many people have captured the spruce on lens, Mary, but caught in the wind? Unable to do anything but stand tall and strong? A role model for all the tiny plants below smile
