photoblog image Lone Leaf

Lone Leaf

I loved the colour pattern on this leaf.  I had to stomp on it while focusing as it started to blow away - thus the sand covering the surface.

Yu!

That was worth stomping on, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: No leaf was damaged during this photo. Stomped but not damaged. I'm a pacifist

Mary MacADNski: Oh, what I'll do for my art..... No leaf was damaged during this photo. Stomped but not damaged.

well stomped Mary, very unusual colour pattern, l am used to them fadeing out all over at the sane time
Mary MacADNski: You see this in this type of leaf sometimes and other odd decay patterns in individual leaves. I saw some good ones today but didn't get shots....walking too fast and had to consider hiking partner and not always be having her stop.

You really couldn't make up some of these decay patterns Mary: this one is marvellous
Mary MacADNski: I've seen poplar leaves do this before and I saw some really cool ones today.
Quite an unusual way of fading away. Really beautiful Mary!
Mary MacADNski: It's pretty. Thanks, Richard.

It actually looks like someone had made a painting on it, Mary...like they do in India. Maybe Mother Nature got out her paint brushes. smile
Mary MacADNski: I've got mine out, Ginnie but am doing landscapes. It is that time of year.
The colour of the sand really sets this leaf off, lovely.
Mary MacADNski: That is the colour of the sand here and it is indeed lovely.
So very simple Mary and yet such an attractive picture.
Mary MacADNski: Interesting too, I think. I've seen this type of colouring other times and saw some great patterns today. I love to be in the fall woods and am happy to get there most days.
Amazing its retaining some colour halfway up the leaf. Very nice Mary
Mary MacADNski: I saw another great bunch of leaves on today's hike too but couldn't really stop. I have a hiking partner to consider.
This makes me think of one of those maps of the world., mary.. the ones that lay flat and so distort the size of the continents. The only trouble is that the continents aren't in the right place!
Mary MacADNski: There are such beautiful leaves in the woods. I'd like to take a photo of them all but have a hiking partner to consider. I need to go alone someday soon.

Amazing composition! Beautiful!
Mary MacADNski: The woods at this time of year is what is beautiful. I love it and can't get enough.
I wish you hadn't told us that, the poor thing was concussedtongue

It's a lovely picture
Mary MacADNski: I flatten it out pretty good, eh? Thanks, Bill.
Really striking colour on that leaf, Mary. Well stomped! (:o)
Mary MacADNski: Flattened it out but not permanently.
An excellent image, well seen - perhaps one of your finer efforts, Mary. Cheers.
Mary MacADNski: Really? Well, thank you.
Looks like rather an exotic butterfly
Mary MacADNski: i love the strange patterns poplar leaves can take in their autumn journey of decay.
