photoblog image Wild Grasses

Wild Grasses

I love wild field grasses at any time of the year but in October they seem at their most delicate.

We stop to stare at the grasses in the fields, on the walk, The Island Walk.

I like the subtlety of this image with the various kinds of grasses peeking out...
Mary MacADNski: I like to see natural landscape not plowed or cropped. It will have it's turn eventually but for now......bliss.

Yes...I like it best when grasses are flowering or seeding. This is a fine shot, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: This is a bit past that. It would still have some seed but is beyond ripe. I love it.

Good photo in Aus we would say there will be snakes in there
Mary MacADNski: I could tell you a story about snakes in AU in a field just like this. Shudder!!!!
It is always good to see this.
Mary MacADNski: It's nice to see natural landscape, not plowed or cropped. It will be next year most likely.

In Australia this would be the sign of a good growing season with plenty of rain, looks great Mary
Mary MacADNski: What I know of Au for the last decade, that would be a rare occurrence.
Is there a breeze blowing to give this effect Mary. Its lovely.
Mary MacADNski: It was calm this day. These are such fine grasses and their seeds are ripening and falling.
One can imagine the rustle as the wind moves these grasses backwards and forwards Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It was calm this day but there has been lots of wing recently. Fall is apon us,
These shots give such a feeling of peace, cheers, HC
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, HC. My walking partner was saying how peaceful it is now that the tourists are gone.
