I showed you a shot of a fox sleeping at the top of my driveway last winter. This one was sitting wide awake on the bottom of my driveway at dusk. I'd say he/she was looking for a fast food kitty.

Easy for me to imagine a certain predatory alertness about this fox, Mary...perhaps already thinking about the pleasure of hot...eerrr...kitty on a cold day.
Fabulous to live in a place where you get exotic visitors like this, even if their intentions are not welcomed.
Mary MacADNski: LOL It's so funny that this is an exotic animal. Look around you, Mister.
Mary MacADNski: There are lots of photos of the fox in the archives from back in the winter. A pair of them hung around all winter looking for some fast food - my cats.
You certainly do have the most photogenic foxes around your way! I suppose he has the lovely bushy coat because of the cold.

Mary MacADNski: This one and it's mate were a very healthy looking pair. Foxes are not always so healthy looking. The cold would certainly help thicken up their coats.
They are beautiful creatures but not when the cats are out! Here they reckon there are more urban foxes than in the countryside proper!
Mary MacADNski: I've seen them in Charlottetown, our capital, but nearer the suburbs. Raccoons and skunks are more seen in urban areas than foxes here.
They seem to be fairly tame to come this close mary, or is it just hunger.
Mary MacADNski: They have become quite tame because some people feed them. It is a dangerous practice as they come around to other houses as well then.
