Karen in Shadows

I asked my walking partner if she minded being shown on the blog.  She doesn't so here she is again, in shadows. The yellow leaf was the first coloured leaf of the season and I stopped to get a shot.

Nice walking track...wide enough for an Army to march.

I like the yellow leaf.

I love the choice of singer today, Mary...Odetta is one of my favourites, and I actually saw her perform live in Melbourne, Australia about a hundred years ago. Odetta died this year.
Mary MacADNski: I loved Odetta. I immediately think of You've Got the Whole World. I loved that song as a kid.

We walk only on roads like this. There is no traffic to worry about nor houses with DOGS.

LOL it's always better to ask first Mary, because a thump in the mouth often offendsgrin
Nice shot.
Mary MacADNski: Absolutely. I know I wouldn't like to be on someones' blog without permission.

Always good to have a figure in the landscape Mary: it gives it scale
Mary MacADNski: I agree. I have lots of shots with her in them but haqd not used them till I got permission.
Dappled shadows all the way up the track which looks quite well used.
Mary MacADNski: This road is not well used but had recently been graded (smoothed) by a big machine. We walk on this type of roads so there is no problem with traffic.
A wonderful perspective composition Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richard. This was back in Sept.
That looks like a long road ahead, Mary. Like that single leaf.
Mary MacADNski: This is a short part of a regular 9 km. walk we do. We're doing a 12 km tomorrow morning.
Fancy noticing that one leaf Mary. I like the positioning of your friend and this looks a nice road to take a stroll along.
Mary MacADNski: I may have posted the leaf at that time. No, I've checked and did not on this blog but did on another. This was months ago, early Sept. It's the beginning of a 9 km. walk that I love.
She probably think she's far enough from the camera not to feel too self-conscious. This type of track reminds me of those in Wells Gray Park, BC. Makes a bit of a mess on the car either when dusty or when wet!
Mary MacADNski: She's not self conscious at all. She posed the other day. The roads are primarily clay so they definitely can be bad in spring when the frost is leaving the ground. It's called muc season.
Very good shot! I like the framing and the colours!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Reflecteur. Wish it were that warm today.
nice candid, although, from this picture, the police couldn't identify the subspect!! Get closer.. he he

Cheers
Rob
Mary MacADNski: I did a close up of her last week. She's quite gorgeous.
